I found a sunshade that was made to be attached to the back of camping chairs. This is the instructions cover. I tried every imaginable way to use what was there for the attachement part, but it was just not going to work.
I ended up putting two PVC "sockets" just under the lip of the edge of the cockpit behind the seat.
You can't the the whole thing because of the storage bags, but there is a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe extending down about a foot and srewed to the hull to keep the socket stiff and upright.
Next, I built a frame out of take-apart pieces (all of which fit in the original storage bag) that can be removed from the sockets.
I heated the cross bar to make a curve so the elbow points wouldn't wear on the fabric as much. The material gets pretty taught over the PVC when pulled down tight.
There was a clip-thingy at the bottom of the shade that clipped into the seatback slipcover.
I cut that off and put it on the back of the WR seat using a velcro webbing strap so that the bottom of the shade could clip there.
The forward adjusting lines go to any of the attachment points on the aka tube. They have an adjustable slider on them.
It all collapses and goes into a small flat package (if you master the "pop-up twist"). The PVC pieces go inside here also.
A bit unconventional, but I think it looks pretty cool!
